following in mommy's footsteps (personal)

Oh, I just couldn't be prouder!!! Our town is having the big Comal County Fair all this week and weekend. It's a HUGE deal here!! There is no school on Friday, and all of the local businesses completely shut down for the parade on Friday morning. At the fair, they have lots of different things you can enter to show your "talents." Oddly enough (not really, because I kind of made them), my boys are entering their latest "work" into the photography contest!!!

One day after school, I told each boy to think of a really cool idea for a picture and we would work on it. It was so cute the way they really were deciding what to do! And I honestly let them choose whatever they wanted to do...as you will see! So, we went outside on our driveway (they clearly didn't think of anything too crazy!) and I put my camera on auto...and away they went! It was really cute. I can't believe that I didn't video them, but I was too worried about one of them dropping my camera to be doing anything else than follow them 2 steps behind!

So, here's Dayton's idea. He thought of putting his beloved hippo in the basketball net...

Grady thought of putting his favorite toy Buzz Lightyear in the mailbox...

Well, Brogan didn't really do this with us. I figured this was something just for the big boys to do. But he cried and cried, so once we were back inside, I let him take one picture. I almost deleted it, but thought it would be cute to remember that it was his first picture with Mommy's big camera. Well, when I was triple-checking the rules on entering the contest, I realized that the age range is 2-7 years old...Brogan could enter!!! Luckily I had that one picture that he took...of Grady's face...

Well, I think it will have to be a 3-way tie for 1st place at the Fair this year in the 2-7 year old Photography Category!!! Don't you?!!! ;)

So, make sure you go and check them out. I've had them each matted and framed and hopefully abided by the MANY rules of the Fair! They'll be hanging up with all the other photography entries! And if you have your camera with you, please, please, please do me the biggest favor ever and snap a picture for me! I'm leaving to go to Nashville, TN tomorrow for my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Convention. I'll be gone until Sunday evening, so I'll miss the whole thing! :(

Those are adorable! I would snap a picture for you, but we're leaving for Nashville tomorrow afternoon, too! Not for MOPS, though, to meet my new niece. Maybe we'll run into eachother! Have a safe trip!
