We had a great Valentine's Day last week! We spent the whole week before preparing for the fun day. Dayton and Grady had to make their own Valentine boxes at home, and then take them up to school for their party. Wish I had pics of them, because they worked so hard on them! I think we added "more glitter!!!!" to the boxes everyday after school. Brogan also wanted to do a "projeck", so we decided to make his own little Valentine treat holders. I collect weird things for my kids to do crafts with (and for the kindergarten teachers at the school), so I had the perfect little containers!...gum holders! I love the Orbitz gum that comes in that little can, or whatever its' called, and I just happened to have 19 of them...perfect for his friend's Valentine party!!! He painted them all by himself and then added stickers to the top. Mommy helped fill them with chocolate...one for the container...one for mommy! ;) And I'm not sure why, but Brogan insisted on wearing this Santa hat to complete his project! Cutie...
The boys woke up Valentine's morning with little surprises on the breakfast table. Each one had a balloon tied to their chair, a couple little gifts, and more importantly, donuts for breakfast!!! Donuts are only for weekends at our house, so this was surprise enough! Dayton and Grady were excited to get those little capsules that when you put them into hot water, they turn into a sponge (woo~hoo, right?...but they'd been wanting some more), and they got 1st grade workbooks that they keep in their beds...
Brogan also got the capsules and a baby Willy to add to his collection. Willy is from the Free Willy movies, and he adores them!...
David and I got the chance to go to dinner that weekend before for a small celebration, and it was so nice to be together, without the children at dinner! Hope everyone else had happy days, too!
