my first fundraiser

I was asked to do my first Photo Fundraiser for a group that is very dear to my heart...the Northwest Houston Moms of Multiples group. I was a member of their group from the time I was 20 weeks pregnant with my twin boys, until I moved to New Braunfels about a year ago. The group designated a whole weekend of family photo sessions and a vendor fair to raise money. The proceeds will be split between two funds...The Hartman Fund and Help Lauren Learn. The Hartman Fund is money that stays within their own group, assisting moms while they are on bed-rest, families of babies in the NICU, and families suffering from the loss of a child. The assistance includes groceries, house cleaning, gas, etc. The other foundation is Help Lauren Learn. The following is from the NWHMOM newsletter:
Lauren is 5 years old. She has a twin sister, Elizabeth, and a younger brother, Jack. Lauren laughs, explores, plays, and loves just like many 5 years old. But Lauren is deaf and blind. Lauren will learn to communicate with her hands, but she needs an Intervener to open these doors. In the United States, Interveners are not recognized as licensed professionals as they are in Canada. All Interveners in the US must be privately funded. So, providing for an Intervener for a child in Kingwood, Texas, becomes the sole responsibility of the family. Interveners cost between $1,000-$1,500 per week. Lauren's family has been working to pay for it themselves. The Daley family is looking for help in the form of donations to pay for Lauren's Intervener. For more information about Lauren, please visit her website at

So, thank you Moms of Multiples! And a special thanks to Kara for setting everything up and being my "assistant" at the shoots! I will be posting pictures soon! And for more on the Northwest Houston Moms of Multiples group, visit their website at
