my three boys (downtown austin, texas)

One Friday, the boys and I made a very last minute trip up to Austin for our own little photo shoot! I've had a few Austin clients ask me about doing a downtown shoot there, so I wanted to check it out. We had so much fun cruising around the streets looking for some hip, cool spots to take pictures. I think in the very short time we were there, we found some great places!!! I still have available time slots for downtown Austin on Saturday, October 17th and Saturday, November 14th. Please let me know if you'd like to reserve a time!

I'll start with my favorite from the day! To be honest, I was starting to get annoyed that my own little guys weren't listening (always harder to photograph your own kids!) So, this is what they were doing to "pay attention"... and I ended up LOVING it! I even had it enlarged, and it's in this huge chunky frame in our bedroom! Enjoy!...

Here are a couple of the twins together. Poor Brogan had to stay in the stroller...for safety purposes! ;)...

Here's Dayton...

And Grady...

Finally, Brogan got to get out of the stroller for a couple...

Thanks for looking!!! I am really excited about the two Saturdays that I'll be up in Austin shooting again! There are countless places to choose from downtown!! Have a great weekend!

the hablinski family & friends (bastrop, texas)

Oh, I had so much fun at this shoot!! I met the family last December down in Port Aransas, so I was excited to see them again! They were celebrating mom's birthday and getting in some family time at the beautiful Hyatt Lost Pines Retreat in Bastrop, Texas. It was amazing, and I was ready to stay the whole weekend!!!

Anyhow, here's little Peter at 5 months old...

Now, Peter, the big 1 year old!!!...

And then we went down to the beach-entry swimming area so he could splash around...

Some of Peter's friends joined him for a few pictures. These kiddos' mommies are super-close friends with Peter's mom. How fun!...

Here are the Helterbran girls...

Hailey Caroline is 4 years old...

And Hannah Catherine is 2 years old...

And these are the Keen twin boys. They are 3 1/2 years old..

This is John...

And this is Paul...

Then Peter had his special cousin Evan join him in a few pics.

Peter's aunt & uncle snuck in a for a few family pictures, too! Here are the Akers...

Thank you all so much! I had a great time seeing y'all again and meeting your friends!!! I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay!

first day success...mostly (personal)

Wow! What a wild and exciting day! We woke the boys up at 6:30 to get ready for school. Their day at school begins at 7:45. Grady was ready to go and straight to the breakfast table. Dayton, on the other hand, was still refusing to go! He started crying soon after he woke up. Poor baby! It really broke Daddy's heart to see him so upset. When our babysitter got here to stay with Brogan, Dayton actually calmed down quite a bit. I think he was trying to act "big" for her, so the tears were gone.

We walked into school with ease. Grady practically ran into his class, and got situated quickly. We told him goodbye, and I'm not even sure he realized we were leaving. Dayton braced himself in his classroom's doorway, saying that he just wasn't going. Daddy picked him up and carried him to his desk. His teacher came to the rescue and took over. She started joking with Dayton and tickling him. He started to feel at ease and was putting his things away. We told him goodbye, and he seemed to be okay.

I picked them up at 2:45. Dayton ran to the car and said, "That was so fun, Mom!" Grady got into the car and was really crying! What had happened?!? Had someone switched my twins' personalities on the first day? Well, turns out that Grady was upset because he didn't get a "car rider tag" like Dayton's class. I'm sure there will be much more to come of that throughout the year with different teachers!

We're home now, and they've both asked me if they get to go back tomorrow...success!!!

Here they are going into their 3 year old class...

Last year, going into the 4 year old class...

And today, going into KINDERGARTEN!...

And Dayton being carried by Ms. Pruesser...

Way to go guys! I'm so proud of y'all!!!
