loving my church (personal)

When we moved here, my husband and I were ready to set out and find out new church home. We were ready to visit a new church each Sunday, to see where we felt like we belonged. Well, during our first visit to First United Methodist Church (which was the first church on our list), we looked at each other and said, "We LOVE it here!!!"

So, a year and half later, we're still there and have had the opportunity to be very involved! David and I are in the 20's and 30's Sunday School Class, and get to talk and discuss Pastor Laura's sermon each week with about 12 other couples. This has been the biggest blessing for us, because each of these couples also have small children. We've made lifelong friends for sure! David is on a church committee and I'm a co-coordinator of the MOPS group. I also had the pleasure of taking the staff pictures recently, to help update the website!

Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago, our church did the coolest thing! We had our Palm Sunday service at Landa Park! We had almost 500 people at this service!!! Our Praise Band was there, and two of our pastors were there to lead the service. Here are some pictures from this very successful event!...

And three new families joined our church that day!...

When the service was over, we had picnic lunches and FUMC provided cookies and drinks for all...

Then we spent time letting the kiddos play with their friends...

OH! And the church even gave everyone a ticket for a free train ride through the park!!!

So, thank you FUMC for hosting such a cool event for all of the church families! I hope this is a tradition that continues every year!!!
